Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

UpStart seeks a Project Manager to join our creative and thoughtful Social Entrepreneurship team. This is the team responsible for designing and implementing UpStart’s cohort-based learning experiences. We’re seeking someone who can bring high-level strategic organization, and detailed follow-through to our fast-paced environment. This role will report to the Senior Director, Experiential Learning, and provide critical support to the Social Entrepreneurship team. Collaboration is key, and you’ll be working closely with teams from various departments.

This role is expected to travel up to 4 times a year for in-person events, including internal staff retreats and external meetings and events with the goal of connecting and building relationships directly with colleagues, our UpStarter Network, and our partners, face-to-face.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Management and Support

  • Coordinate the Social Entrepreneurship team’s timelines and workflows across programs.
  • Track the timing of programs and bring in cross-departmental support on appropriate timelines during the planning, design, and implementation processes.
  • Support program implementation, including updating and coordinating calendars, creating and organizing documents, presentations, and other participant-facing materials.
  • Schedule and onboard contractors and subject matter experts who collaborate with our team to deliver programs.
  • Provide administrative support to customize curriculum for various projects.
  • Collaborate with the Program Operations team to support materials and logistics for in-person and online gatherings.
  • Collaborate with the Monitoring Evaluation and Learning (MEL) team to develop and implement a plan for ongoing curriculum testing, including: designing testing protocol, capturing feedback, mapping the data, recommending changes, and supporting implementation.

Cross-Departmental Collaboration

  • Coordinate and align processes with cross-organizational teams. This role will serve as the driving force behind interdepartmental conversations and internal collaboration, keeping track of all the loose ends and delegating as needed.
  • Support pipeline building with interested ventures and Network members to help direct them to relevant opportunities or program pathways.

Resource Management

  • Update/archive curriculum, documents, and files (including cohort data) in partnership with the rest of SE team.
  • Reviews, proofreads, and tests new materials before they go out to users, in partnership with the Learning Systems Manager.
  • Ensure branding is consistent and documents are appropriately titled and filed within shared Google Drives, in adherence with existing naming and organizing conventions. This will include cataloging and tagging the documents so that we have easy access to our many resources.

  • Ability to break down a high-level vision into implementable action items in a high-paced environment with many projects, moving pieces, and competing priorities.
  • Detail-oriented with strong follow-through, while maintaining adaptability and agility as organizational and technological priorities change.
  • Commitment to integrating a diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice lens into every piece of their work.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Systems thinker who is able to keep track of complex processes and timelines.
  • Innovative thinker, not afraid to provide critical feedback and implement changes.
  • Ability to embrace ambiguity and pivot to pursue new opportunities.
