Job Description

Position Summary:

The HR Manager plays a central role within our HR department. The HR Manager works closely with the Senior Director of HR to ensure the smooth running of day-to-day HR operations at JFNA. The daily responsibilities of the HR Manager entail keeping track of employee information, making sure all HR operations, processes, and policies run on time and as efficiently as possible, responding to and helping employees with their HR and benefits-related questions, drafting routine communications, and supporting existing, new, or evolving HR practices.

The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge of HR and should be familiar with using HR software and tools. To be successful in this role, the HR Manager should have the ability to multitask, have meticulous attention to detail, demonstrate outstanding recordkeeping abilities, be gracious in communications with our employees, have the ability to maintain timely and appropriate communications, be responsive to inquiries and able to keep pace with multifaceted and time-sensitive assignments in an often-hectic department.

Responsibilities:

HR Team: Provide support and collaborate with the HR team in ongoing responsibilities and tasks including the creation of new programs/processes.
Maintain records: Maintain employee records for completeness and accuracy including documents, benefits, and attendance records, ensuring all employment requirements are met. Input and update employment and personnel data into ADP WorkforceNow. Generate reports on employee data and benefits as needed.
I-9 Compliance: Verify I-9 documentation and maintain I-9 files.
Policy Implementation: Manage the Anti-Harassment Training program, ensuring employee completion and compliance to meet legal requirements. Additional compliance requirements include an annual conflict of interest statement, whistleblower policies and other practices or policies as introduced by HR.
Onboarding and Recruitment: Coordinate background checks and pre-employment screenings, facilitate new hire paperwork, collaborate with internal IT to ensure equipment and various accounts are set up, draft offer letter. Assist in the recruitment process, including job posting, resume screening, and interviewing as needed.
Benefits Administration: Assist with the administrative aspect of employee benefits programs, including enrollments, terminations, open enrollment, review and process billing, answer employee inquiries, etc.
Attendance: Administer time and attendance system, respond to staff attendance questions, and monitor weekly timesheets for hourly employees.
Performance Management: Organize and maintain the online performance review process.
Staff Directories: Maintain HR-generated staff directories.
Staff notices: Draft various staff notices, holiday schedules and reminders, new hire welcome messages, etc. Ability to add interest and novelty to various communications.
Other duties as required.
